
AM Community Credit Union Membership Requirements
Joining the credit union is easy! Any person who lives or works in Wisconsin’s Kenosha or Racine Counties, any Chrysler employee or any family member of an AM Community Credit Union (AMCCU) member is eligible for membership. A $5.00 savings deposit (one share in the credit union) establishes your membership. As a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative, AMCCU exists to provide affordable and accessible financial products, services and resources to help our members achieve financial security. Beginning October 1, 2003, AM Community Credit Union required certain information from you that helps us get to know you better during the new account process. Values Checking Options
AMCCU’s VALUES checking includes six specialized checking accounts that are sure to meet your needs.

University Checking – Students under the age of 25 will appreciate this account with extra flexibility for growing financial needs.
Equitable Checking – Members with high balances will earn dividends and avoid monthly fees with this interest earning account.
Status Checking – Enjoy all the perks with this account for members who are 59 ½ and better.

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs): AM Community Credit Union (AMCCU) offers three types of IRA options (Traditional, Roth, Educational or Coverdell) for members to choose from to meet personal and retirement objectives. All IRA funds on deposit at AMCCU are insured separately in aggregate up to $250,000.00 by NCUA (National Credit Union Adminstration) apart from other deposit accounts.
Below are some details about each IRA type to help you plan for retirement needs. For tax and or eligibility- related questions, please consult IRS publication 590 or speak with a certified tax or financial advisor.
Traditional IRA
- Earnings are Tax-deferred
- Contributions may be tax-deductible
- 2009 Contribution limit of $5,000/year and $6,000/year (ages 50+)
- No Contributions may be made after age 70
Roth IRA
- Earnings may be tax-free
- Contributions are not tax-deductible
- No age limit for contributions
- 2009 Contributions limit of $5,000/year and $6,000/year (ages 50+)
Educational IRA (Coverdell)
- Contributions are not tax-deductible
- Contributions are limited to $2,000 per year
- Child (beneficiary) must be 18 or younger for eligible contributions
- Withdrawals for qualified educational expenses are tax-free
AMCCU members have two options available for investing IRA funds:
IRA Deposit Account
- No minimum balance required
- Dividends are compounded quarterly
- Ability to set aside funds via payroll deduction
IRA Share Certificate
*Individuals must meet eligibility requirements. Members must maintain a savings account with one share ($5.00) on deposit before opening an IRA deposit or IRA Share Certificate account.

Touch Tone Teller
24-hours a day, 365 days a year, Touch Tone Teller gives members a wealth of information from the convenience of their touch-tone phone. Check balances and check clearings, review history, transfer funds and more. From Kenosha County, dial 262-697-3737. Outside of Kenosha, dial 800-261-0233.
Debit/ATM Cards
AMCCU’s check card offers a convenient alternative to writing checks and carrying cash. Members have ample access to cash from two surcharge-free ATM networks in addition to AMCCU machines at:

AM Community Credit Union members already enrolled for NetBranch can use any cell phone or PDA with web browser capabilities to access their account information. Simple, convenient, easy-to-use, NetBranch Mobile is ready to go anywhere you take your cell phone. NetBranch Mobile uses the same log in information and multi-factor authentication as Online Banking so members won’t have to remember a new log in or password. Credit Union Shared Service Centers (Shared Branching)
The ultimate in convenience, AMCCU is a part of a national network of cooperative credit unions called shared branching.
